Perhaps one day we could conduct a little experiment and take away those carrots that we unwittingly (or knowingly) dangle in front of people, and make a little observation, we would be able to see lucidly exactly who are those who respond only when there's a carrot. A second valuable discovery awaits, though. It is how these people respond when they realise that the carrots have are now a thing of the past. Aldous and William both got it right I think. That part about the alternate doors of perception, that really hit the nail on the head. Like how the dart hits the bulls eye, or when that tracer hits the heart of the Figure 11 and you know 200 bucks are coming your way. The doors differ from people to people though.
